Accessibility Statement for Netaxept Payment 2.0
At Nets/Nexi, we believe everyone should be able to pay online - without barriers.
We're committed to making our checkout and payments services accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. As part of that commitment, we are actively working toward full compliance with the European Accessibility Act and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.
While we have made significant progress, some areas are still being improved beyond the 28 June 2025 deadline.
Accessibility Audit
Netaxept Payment 2.0 is currently partially compliant with the WCAG 2.1 AA standard.
As part of our accessibility efforts, we worked with external specialists at Netlight to audit the Netaxept Payment 2.0 experience. Their review highlighted areas where we don’t formally fulfill the WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines.
We’re addressing these issues and making ongoing improvements to create a more accessible experience - for everyone.
Accessibility Features
Netaxept Payment 2.0 currently supports a range of accessibility-focused features, including:
Keyboard Navigation: All buttons and input fields are accessible via keyboard navigation alone.
Screen Reader Support: ARIA attributes are used across key components to support assistive technologies.
Semantic Markup: The structure follows meaningful HTML with appropriate use of heading levels and element labeling.
Image Accessibility: Icons meet minimum contrast requirements, and decorative images are hidden from assistive tech.
Text Contrast: Strong contrast between text and background ensures readability.
Forms: Input fields are correctly labeled, autocomplete is implemented, and errors are described with ARIA attributes.
UI Components: Accordion elements and buttons include appropriate ARIA-expanded and label attributes.
Responsive Design: The layout adapts to small screen widths and different orientations without loss of functionality.
Continuous Improvements
Accessibility isn’t a one-time fix - it’s a continuous effort. Our product, design, and engineering teams are actively working to improve Netaxept Payment 2.0 by addressing known issues and making the experience better for everyone.
Current Work in Progress
Here’s a summary of the known issues we’re working on and what’s planned next:
| Issue Area | Description | Planned Fix | Target Resolution |
|---|---|---|---|
| Keyboard | The popover (e.g., CVC icon) does not close on focus loss when navigating with keyboard | Add close-on-blur functionality | December 2025 |
| Structure | Missing native HTML landmarks and semantic tags | Introduce <header>, <main>, and <footer> elements | December 2025 |
| Images | Icons are implemented as <span> rather than semantic <img>tags | Replace spans with semantic image elements | December 2025 |
| Forms | Required fields are not visually marked and lack aria-required | Add visual and ARIA indicators for required fields | December 2025 |
| Text | Some links (e.g., "here") lack descriptive context | Replace with meaningful link text | December 2025 |
| UI Components | Some buttons and interactive elements are missing descriptive labels or contain conflicting ARIA roles | Add clear labels and remove redundant roles | December 2025 |
We update this table regularly as we make progress on the remaining issues.
