How to connect terminal to WiFi

In this article you can read how to connect your terminal to WiFi. The process to be followed varies based on the terminal type you have. Choose your terminal type from the list below and follow the steps mentioned.

VIKING Terminal:

Move 3500 terminal

To connect your Move 3500 terminal to Wi-Fi, make the following changes.

Note: To make the changes, you'll need your merchant card. (If you don't have your merchant card, please get in touch with our technical support).

  • First, press the F1 key on your Move3500 terminal. Below is a picture to demonstrate where to find the F1 key on the term.

  • Swipe your merchant card.

  • Then select 'Control Panel'.

  • Select 'Terminal Settings'.

  • Select 'Comm Means'.

  • Select 'Wifi' and then 'Enable'.

  • Now, Scan your network and select the correct Wi-Fi network from the list by pressing 'OK' (the green button).

  • Enter your Wi-Fi password using the arrow keys to move up and down; and the side keys for side navigation.

  • After entering your password, press OK.

You have now connected your terminal to your Wi-Fi network.

Other Viking terminal models

Other Viking terminals models (e.g. Desk 3500, Move 5000) cannot be connected to wi-fi.

These models needs to be connected directly through Ethernet / LAN-cable (or an ECR cable) and wireless connection does not work.

ONEPA Terminal:

OnePA terminals cannot be connected to Wi-Fi. These models needs to be connected directly through Ethernet / LAN-cable.

Castles Terminal:

In a Castles terminal, in case Wi-Fi is not configured, the terminal will connect to 4G automatically. To configure the terminal for Wi-Fi, the terminal should be restarted.

To close and restart the terminal, press the menu or [*] (star) button at the bottom left corner until the terminal has restarted.

After the power icon is displayed, press the yellow ['clear'] key a few times. The terminal will then ask for the name (SSID) and password (PSK) of the wireless network.

Enter the wifi network name and password and confirm with [OK].

The terminal then restarts to connect to the wireless network.

SmartPOS Terminal:

In a SmartPOS terminal, to configure the terminal for Wi-Fi, you should do the following on the terminal:

  • Open the 'Settings' application on the home screen.

  • Navigate to 'Network settings'.

  • You will see Wi-Fi settings under 'Preferences'.

  • Change Wi-Fi settings in the 'Network settings' menu.

  • Enable Wi-Fi and select the network you wish to use.
