Activating terminal for use
Our payment terminals are delivered ready for use. Start by connecting the payment terminal to the power source and to the network. There are different steps from there, depending on which terminal you have.
The first time you start the terminal, you'll need to activate it to get started.
Hold the power button on the left hand side of the terminal.
Select your preferred language and press [Continue].
Press [Activate], verify your business details that are shown on the terminal screen and press [Yes, continue].
Create a PIN-code or login to an existing user account. You can also on the bottom of the screen choose to create a new user. The PIN-code can be reset by our customer service.
Agree to the terms and conditions by pressing [I agree].
The activation is complete and your home screen with preconfigured applications will appear. Payments are initiated from the 'Terminal' application.
The terminal handles the reconciliation (end-of-day) automatically. The transactions can be viewed in the portal and the MyPayments companion app the following banking day. Transactions from the past 30 days can also be viewed in the ‘Transactions' app. Daily sales reports can be printed in the 'Npay' app.
After you have connected the payment terminal to the power source and to the network, you should activate your Viking payment terminal by doing a manual end of day. A manual end of day is done as follows:
Press [Menu] button
Press [6]
A PSAM terminal usually comes ready to be utilized.
When the payment terminal starts, it asks for a security code. The function of the security code is to protect the card terminal's functions such as card returns and changes to settings. Enter the security code by pressing the keypad of the payment terminal. The security code must be six digits long and must not contain the same number in succession. After you have entered your security code, you should activate your payment terminal by making a manual end-of-day payment.
The manual end of day is done as follows:
Press [*]
Press [6]
