Accessibility Statement for Easy Checkout Service
At Nets/Nexi, we believe everyone should be able to pay online - without barriers.
We're committed to making our checkout and payments services accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. As part of that commitment, we are actively working toward full compliance with the European Accessibility Act and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. While we have made significant progress, some areas are still being improved beyond the 28 June 2025 deadline.
Accessibility Audit
Easy / Checkout is currentlypartially compliant with the WCAG 2.1 AA standard.
As part of our accessibility efforts, we worked with external specialists at Netlight to audit the Easy / Checkout experience. Their review highlighted areas where we don’t formally fulfill the WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines.
We’re addressing these issues and making ongoing improvements to create a more accessible experience - for everyone.
Accessibility Features
Easy / Checkout currently supports a range of accessibility-focused features, including:
Keyboard Navigation – All features and actions are operable via keyboard
Screen Reader Support – We use semantic HTML and ARIA roles so content is announced clearly by assistive tech
Text Alternatives – Icons and images include meaningful alt text or programmatic labels
Color & Text Contrast – Text and interface elements meet contrast guidelines for readability
Resizable Text – Content remains readable and functional when text is resized up to 200%
Focus Indicators – A visible focus state helps keyboard users track their position during checkout
Applied semantic structure & heading hierarchy
Continuous Improvements
Accessibility isn’t a one-time fix - it’s a continuous effort. Our product, design, and engineering teams are actively working to improve Easy / Checkout by addressing known issues and making the experience better for everyone.
Current Work in Progress
Here’s a summary of the known issues we’re working on and what’s planned next:
| Issue Area | Description | Planned Fix | Estimated Resolution |
|---|---|---|---|
| Keyboard Navigation | The popover (e.g., CVC info) does not close on focus loss when navigating via keyboard. | Implement close-on-blur behavior | October 2025 |
| UI Components | Add/Co button lacks an accessible label. There are no user instructions for required actions. | Enhance Co Address-button behavior | October 2025 |
| Screen Reader Experience | Popovers are not announced properly | Enhance ARIA usage to support assistive technology accurately | November 2025 |
| Responsive Layout | Font size does not scale with native browser settings. Minimum screen width handling needs adjustment. | Enable responsive font scaling and ensure 320px compatibility | November 2025 |
We update this table regularly as we make progress on the remaining issues.
